How it works

This is my personal page where I document my hikes and tours — and collect donations for good causes along the way. Every vertical metre I climb turns into a contribution to charity.

1. I climb & document

I record my tours here — distance, elevation gained, photos and the summits I reached.

2. Supporters pledge

Friends and supporters pledge a small amount (for example 1 cent) for every vertical metre I climb. I record each pledge here — no account needed on their side.

3. Charities benefit

The pledged amounts are donated to the chosen organizations. The public overview shows how much has been raised for each one.

From a tour to a donation

  • Calculation

    After each tour the pledged amount is calculated from the rate per metre and the elevation I gained.

  • Collection

    Supporters transfer the pledged amount to me (e.g. via PayPal) or donate directly to the charity.

  • Donation & proof

    I forward the collected sum to the agreed charity and keep the donation receipts.
